I had some difficulty getting the wedge out that holds the shift **** in place - it was in pieces by the time I got it free. I didn't bother to get a new one when I put it back together, seems fine.
I used a bungee cord to hold the boot back out of the way when I was driving the pin out of the shift rod - not much room to work in there. Hopefully your pin will come out as easily as mine did - just a few taps and it was out.
The rubber boot that covers the top of the shifter linkage gave me fits - it had all kinds of gooey glue on it, so it was hard to get off. I used a whole bunch of WD-40 to clean it off good before reinstalling it.
Thanks I got her done in 3 hours or so it wasnt fun the. I had the hurst bullit/plus shifter its real tight now and shifts are alot shorter especialy if you adjust the **** all the way down
