light comes on preiodically and may go off by its self.
restarting the engine may cause it to go off.
oxygen sensor replaced by dealership.
what are causes and cures?
Check your codes they will tell you what it is. You do not provide enough info to tell you what it is. When does it come on under what operating conditions?
Hi and welcome! You need to provide trouble codes associated with the service light. Take it to a auto parts store they will usually check it for stored codes free of charge. Then check in again.

Chevy dealer replaced oxygen sensor as there were no stored codes.
No pattern to when it comes on or goes off- it's never on when it
could be checked.
Thanks for your response,

OK does it come on sitting still or driving? Try and give us more info if you want an answer. I suggest you try pulling the codes yourself. There are history codes you know. Do a search on codes.

Use a paper clip, stick one end in the top right pin and place the other end into the bottom left pin. Turn the key to the on position, but do not start.
Watch the dash, it will come up with a 1., these will be the CCM error codes. If you get a C12, that means there have been no errors since last reset or the battery was last disconnected.
Next section is the one you want 4., these are the errors the ECM has encountered. A 'H28' means that this is a historic code 28, if you get a C28, that means the code is a current 28 code.
