For the past few months Ive been messing with my '88 C4. I was getting ready to pull the engine but decided not to though I was already at the point where all I needed was to take the bellhousing bolt out. So today I finally got everything back together to the best I could though I dont dont where the map sensor mounts and theres a few vacuum lines not hooked up. The cars not getting spark. Since I pulled the distributor I turned the crank over to find tdc. Never done that before so Im dont have much experiance. I messed with the dizzy and Im pretty sure the plug wires are in the right spot. Any ideas??
Does the '88 L98 not have a map sensor? Do you have a pic of the map or mat?
No MAP sensor from factory on an 88. A MAF sensor was used, and it's mounted ahead of TB. Sorry, no pic of Manifold Air Temp sensor, also known as Intake Air Temp sensor.
For future reference, use masking tape and label all wires and hoses, plus you should have put the dist. at TDC before removing and made a mark to the base and the engine as a reference.
How do you know you are at TDC?
If you are just checking nbr 1 cylinder, you could be 180 degrees out.
