Yes the blue and black are a little thicker. I used the constant power for the alarm unit to hook up the purple wire to. And you are correct, you are tapping into the switch wires. It may be a typo, but you don't need a white wire in that bundle. The wire colors that i put in quotes were the wires on the 451m. I have everything wrapped in tape, so I'm afraid if I take pics it would be useless.

Thank you. You made it much more clear to me and I think the install will be easy now. I don't know if I couild use power from alarm, as I decided to run the viper alarm on the same circuit as the factory alarm, which has a seperate fuse behind the info center. I figured it would be a smart place to run into since it would be hard for a person to disable it since you have to take the dash apart to change that fuse. I don't think that circuit could support the door lock motors too. Now I just have to figure out how to wire the remote start.

Thank you to all that helped me, especially Jonnyangle. You had very easy instructions. The only thing that I found wrong was that I had to switch the lock and unlock wires on the 451m. When I wired as you said, the lock button on the remote unlocked the car, and the unlock button locked it. So it just made sense to reverse the wiring. After reversing it, it works good. Now I just have to figure out how to wire the remote start relay satalite. Thanks again.
Yeah, I had that problem too, where the lock and unlock were different than my manual said. But at least you figured it out. Now that you're done, it's actually pretty easy isn't it!
It seems when I lock and unlock the car with the remote, that it is not arming and disarming the factory alarm. Did I forget to hook something else up? I went to unlock it with the remote one night, and when I sat inside the car, I could hear a relay clicking somewhere behind the info center. I figured it was probably the factory alarm was not properly disarmed with my remote. Any ideas? Thanks!
Test it out:
Roll down the windows
Turn off the car
Lock the car with the switch ( do not arm the Viper alarm)
Manually unlock the drivers door by moving the mechanism
Open the door from the outside door handle.
If the horn starts honking, that's not the issue. It's possible that the alarm is drawing power from the circuit that said relay is hooked up to IN MY OPINION, the factory alarm is obsolete when there is an aftermarket alarm installed. How's the remote start coming? I've never done one so I can't offer any advice, but I can help you find the wires you're looking for.
