Does anybody have any general comments on this mod. This seems like a decent deal for $140 i thought i saw here? Scares me even touching the ZF6 though. IAlready had one replaced under warranty, i wouldn't want them to pin it on a mod if happened again.
I thought this was one of the best things I did so far to my car. The short throw shifter (and that's any of them out there) will increase your driving enjoyment. If you do a search you'll see there is a divided camp, B&M on one hand and Hurst on the other. Even the guys with Kirbans and the stock shifters got into it. I felt the Hurst was the way to go not only cost wise but in what others had said about the B&M. I ran Hurst years ago and always liked their quality, this new shifter is no exception. The quality is outstanding, the instructions are clear and the only thing you are changing is the actual stick itself. You reuse all the other stock parts. Can I throw a flat shift faster than before with the stock shifter? I don't know, but I am more confident throwing them now. I've had mine in for around 5 months and it still feels the same as when I put it in, and no rattles. It's a great deal for the money. Just my comments. Do a search in this section using Hurst and read what has been said. You'll be hearing from the other camps shortly. :D
I agree with Tony. Also, reverse lock out on the early ZF I wouldn't worry about it. Mine doesn't have a reverse lock out and the Hurst has been on the for about 8 months as my DAILY. The only time I hit reverse was just after the shifter going from 4th to 6th skipping 5th just after the shifter getting used to the closer gates. I love mine totally changed the ZF. When are you going to be shifting into 6th so quickly you hit reverse?
Where can I purchase the Hurst Shifter and the best price? Has there been a GP on any? I have always liked the way the Hurst shifters have worked for me. Thanks
