Had the '95 at work one day last week. Tried to start it in the afternoon and it acted like hydrolock. Took 3 times before it actually moved the engine and then "locked" again. Finally spun and started but huge cloud of white vapor followed me for about 1/2 mile before it stopped. Car was running great all the way home.
Yesterday I took it for a ride and it was running fine but the coolant temp that normally stays around 175 was jumping between 220 and 260
Got it home O.K., pulled on the lift and coolant was boiling hot.
No indication of coolant in the oil.
I'm thinking a head gasket.
I just had the darn thing apart to replace the crank front cover seal and replace the water pump.

Dont know of this problem but it sounds serious. Is coolant lower than normal. I would start with a cooling system pressure test. Members on the forum could probably give better help on a proper diagnosis. GOOD LUCK.
Thanks for the replies. This comes at an inconvienient time. I do most of my major work over the winter months.
Since I've got 95k on it maybe I ought to be looking at a new long block from Golen.
