Default help with a rich cond. read last post

hope someone can shed some light on prob.[1990 L98] i did the Lt1 intake swap with ford 24# injs. and a 52mm tb,slp 3 cone intake plus some other things also. but those should not cause my rich cond. would anyone think i would need to go to a 58mm tb had a chip burned by a forum member twice, did not correct prob. then i found a pcmforless chip on flebay that was setup for what i have on my 90. the car runs great will go to 6k no backfire or misses at all. but it still shows rich by way the tailpipes look new 02/cts i would welcome any help geo. ps fuel pres 38/40

You won't need a 58mm TB to correct the rich condition. You need to monitor the motor with Datamaster or similar, to find out where the rich condition is. Whoever burned your first chips could use the data-logged info to help adjust the tune.

Black can be from oil burning too.

Default rich

did a couple of logs today with pcmforless chip, everything seems ok but now air/fuel is around 1250/1350 in that range intg./block learn is right around 128 sometime little less/more but nothing bad. car does not use any oil at all, car with pcm chip runs like a bat out of hell, standing start no holding brakes pedal down, car just sets and spins to 6k never did that before, might try less fuel press. and see if that helps thanks geo.like the way it runs just hate those black tailpipes geo

Of course the Int will go to 128 and the BLM cell # to 15 at WOT; what are the O2 readings like as RPM builds up to the shift point at WOT??

Default update on rich prob.

heys guys maybe someone will know answer to what i was thinking about why car is running a little rich, my fuel pressure is around 38/40 which is a little low. fsm says 41/47 if the ecm sees a low pressure reading does it tell injs to add more fuel, maybe all i need to do is bump up fuel pressure to 42/43 hope some can chime in with answer. thanks geo.

ECM doesn't see fuel pressure, it watches the O2 signal and coolant temp, to decide if it needs to shorten or lengthen the pulse width.
Messing with the fuel pressure is more for dialing in open loop. If your rich condition is during open loop, reducing the fuel pressure will help.
