I would advise u to consider the GMPP 383 crate engine. They have different levels of assembly. Scoggins Dickey has some pretty good prices. It's on their web site, if u do a search Tom

BTW Golen looks like your best bet for a new engine. But you could go w/ a 383 crate engine thats brand new.
Oh, BTW Randy, I will take you up on your offer for assistance..

It will take some time simply because my time is limited.

THIS TIME I will take pics for everyone.

My pain, your gain....

John, this is the engine I was thinking of; http://paceperformance.com/index.asp...&ProdID=132130

Did you read the thread by John Marker about the ZZ4 short block build he did? In it, he said that the GM short blocks were not really balanced very well, and that he disassembled the new engine and had it rebalanced.

You may be better off w/ the engine from Golen.

Randy

BTW, I'll bring my camera also.

yes they do, i would just check with some of the big crate outfits & see who has what. the hardcore motors from bill mitchell aren't priced too bad. speed-o-motive makes some decent crates. do the regular stuff like type chevy crate motor in google. buy a copy of super chevy and check the ads. brouse summit etc.. you'll find something that will work.

I'm considering the 383.....comments?
From the look of the $$ diff in those ads a 383 short sure sounds like the real deal.

Don't know what I can do to help but let me know if you need a hand.

Sorry to hear this news on your engine...
