Either your door switch or hatch switch is bad or worn down. You can adjust or tape a nickel to fix the door switch. I used a piece of vacuum hose on the plunger to fix the hatch switch. The hatch has a little extension on it that broke off on mine if yours is still there you might be able to adjust it.

Would you mind telling me where the door switch and the hatch switch are located? Usually you can just look and see the door switch, but on this 95 and I can not see the door switch - and I'm not familiar with the hatch switch.
I don't really understand these fixes you speak of - adjusting and using a nickel - but perhaps once I see these switches I'll be able to figure it out. I'm really not as dense as I currently sound.

Thanks a lot for the response.
The switch for the rear hatch is located at the rear of the drivers door. It is a slide type switch. There is another located in the front of the center console, under the lid. Yellow button.
The door ajar switch is located in the same general area & faces the b pillar. It's a push type. You can pull the pin out, very gently, with a pair of pliers & lube it with WD-40 & see if that helps.
Thr rear hatch switch I am speaking of is located at the center of the rear hatch. The post on that bracket hits the switch inside the plastic cover near the latch. When you open the hatch the lights come on because of it.

I lubed the switches and worked on freeing them up all that I could and it seemed to fix it and then they started flashing again - but not as much. Perhaps I'll try the nickel fix next.
It is not a lube issue. If it was the lights would not come on it is a wear/breakage issue. The rear hatch switch has an extension on it with a post that goes to the switch. My last car that piece broke so I put a small piece of vacuum tubing on the actuator post to extend it so the switch was made. The lights would flash on and off because of it. The same thing with the door however the fix for it is temporary if the switch cannot be adjusted and that is tape a nickle to the spot where it makes. It may just be loose and you need to check both doors.
