Engine starts then stops
I have an 89 coupe, 66k miles, last tune up (plugs, wires, rotor, cap, fuel filter) less than 1000 miles, fresh gas.
It started with a rough idle, sometimes surging, but driving, it ran fine. I noticed my chrome exhaust tips were getting black, never happened before.
Two days ago, while driving on th NJTP at 65 - 70, it ran good for the first 30 miles, than it started to run rough, and eventually died. I could start it, it would run for a second or two then stop. Now that's all it will do.
Checked the fuel pressure with key on, 45 psi and it will hold. Pulled the vacuum line off the pressure regulator and no gas comes out. No codes in the ECM other than 12.
What should I ckeck next? Any and all help would be greatly apperciated. Thanks.

I would at least start to take a look at the injectors. Measure the resistance hot and cold and see if all measure close to each other. I can’t quite remember the resistance of that year injector but I think it might be 16 ohms. I believe the 92 and up are 12 ohms.
If the resistance is all over the place its probably a big clue that they may be defective. But also just because it measures correct doesn’t mean its not leaking either.
See where that goes in your troubleshooting effort, my only other thought is a flaky ECM but only a guess.

My 89 had injector problems back July, 2006. Bad injectors - one in each batch, ECM shut the car down for 2-3 hours before I could restart it.
