Default Tunning question...

I have a 95 lt1 with a head and cam pkg. I currently have my car tunned for this setup, about a year ago I had the bottem end bored .30 over and had srp forged pistons installed. I was just woundering if my car should be tunned again? Thanks for your help. J

If it was tuned correctly before you should still be in tune now.

Thanks. I just didn't know if having the bottem end reworked; would knock my tune off! Thanks

not unless you changed your compression ratio.

I'm going to dyno the car on thur. so i think i will check the tune just to be safe . I think my car will put down about the same hp and toque that it did last year, which was 368rwhp and 406tq. I'm just woundering if by boring my block to .30, if it will produce more power; I'll find out Thur.

Which he did when he bored it over.

Just plugging in stock numbers, and then changing the bore to 4.030 and the head gasket to a typical felpro 4.166 I get a .3 increase in compression ratio, which I'd think would be enough to through the ve out of whack.

And THIS is assuming his pistons even had the same height as the stock pistons, same dish, etc. If any of that is different it could be waaay different.

The car did 365RWHP and 350RWTQ when I owned it. If you search the archives you will find the final numbers on the build when I had it.

I went with "J" to the dyno and told him that .030 bore would not affect the tune. On the first pull the air fuel was 14:1, I pulled the MAF off the car, cleaned it, and the air fuel was spot on at 12.9:1.

I will let "J" post the final numbers from Thursdays dyno session.

The +.030 bore would have some affect on the compression ratio, I am not sure as to how much because of the new pistons. As I told "J" I would need the part number on the pistons and I would have to find my paperwork on the heads for their CC's to get the final compression ratio.

Default Dyno numbers/video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v5tg1q0zh4

The car did 337.56RWHP and 340.48TORQUE at 5800rpm . I'm happy with the numbers, i hope i did not lose any compression, but if i did there is really nothing i can do about it. I'm going to get some long tubes and dyno it again. I'll let you now what I come up with. Let me know what you guys think of my numbers . Thanks for the opinions J .

Hey, "J". Maybe I'm not reading this right. That's a pretty big difference in the numbers. (I would love to have either set, though. )

Same motor, but was there changes besides the bore?

Same dyno?

Should run mid- twelves between 110-115mph. Sounds good to me.

Yeah. Its about a 27 hp difference. I think i may have lost some compression during the rebuild, but it would not hurt to change the plugs and wires, and freshing up the air filters.
