Thats a water passage and nothing to do with the EGR.I'm not sure you will get proper circulation if you block it off.I believe it should connect into one of the heater hoses.

Had mine plugged for 5 years no probs.
I don't know what made the Vettes so special they need a vent; none of the aftermarket manifolds have a rear crossover.
Thanks for all your help guys, when I saw the one pic of the hose connected to the manifold I couldn't remember my car having a hose like that at all. So I went and pulled the stock manifold out and it doesn't have that boss or the port for the block off plate I installed. So it looks like there are some differences in the early manifolds.(mine being a 85)
Here's another I need to verify before I screw it up. Am I putting the presure block on right? It's a super tight fit to the fuel rail, I've stripped the powder coating off the nipple and it seems like it will go on but I don't want to force it if this isn't correct/
OK, got it figured out. the powder coating was interfering with it. Got another question though, anyone know where the little "L" bracket/tab that sitting between the rails goes or what it goes too?

I'm pretty sure it's in there to circulate the collant and get any trapped air out.
