Hi, any one know why my windshield wipers only start to work after 5/10 minutes driving...they continue to work until I get home, wait an hour, then they do not work!!! have checked for a loose fuse, but it seems ok..any ideas???
Sounds like a loose connector / wire somewhere to me.....when you hit bumps in the road while driving it probable makes a better contact so the wipers start working. You can aim for bumps while you first start driving to test this theory then you can bust out the old voltage meter and check circuit out to see where your loosing power or you could go buy some Rain-X ....apply it then just forget about it.
One of the cover screws has the ground wire. Maybe it's loose.
Mine would not work, hit a bump, on they come, hit a bump, off they go.
I believe that screw is the lower inward one.
Worth a look, as well as checking the connectors.
Playing with this issue as well, except everything including the washer is dead on mine. I just reoplaced the cover(circuit board) the ground is the inner screw. Its easy to get at if you move the exhaust air pump hose and the valve cover cover thing.
Anyone know how to get schematics for the circuits. The manual takes me to check ckt 150 and if its normal replace the wiper motor assembly. How do I find circuit 150? Its not in the red books.......
Sorted, thanks everybody, it was one of the wiring block connectors on the wiper motor, although I could not pull the connectors off I squirted some WD40...and wipers work, ready now for annual tech inspection!!!
