I agree completely. I have read them out and they check good. I figure if it is a coil or two they are breaking down in the heat and it is hard to duplicate for a test with the meter.

Right now I am going to get a better wire seperator kit in there and see if that fixes it.

Is Delteq really out of business? Their site is up but I haven't tried calling yet.

Well, f**k this stuff.

I bought a new Opti from O'Reillys. Put it in last night and today and got it buttoned up. Started it tonight and it revved to life well...settled into a smooth idle and I was really hopeful. Drove it down my street - not goosing the throttle or anything - and it was running as smoothly as it ever had. I get to a stoplight and "BLOMP! BRAAAB-BRAAAB-BRAAAB..."

CEL comes on and the engine starts loping again at idle like the computer pulled timing. Same. f***ing. symptoms.

Pull the codes when I got home: H41, H42 and now H72.

I'm guessing it's the ICM or the ECM...both computerized and expensive parts.

I could type a 20-paragraph about how pissed I am about it not being the Opti, but what would it do me or anyone else? In all seriousness, I am feeling very emotionally drained after that drive. I really thought the Opti would be the fix all along, after living with this problem for the last couple of years. Very sad indeed.

This is the song that never ends. Sorry it is taking so long. You stated that you have an ICM in the last post did you dump the Delteq? If not then I believe it is time to do so and go back to stock set up everything points to either ignition control or PCM(95 has PCM not ECM) problem. If you can borrow a PCM somewhere and swap it out you can eliminate that but my gut tells me it is the ignition problem. Obviously not the Opti. Maybe the harness from the opti? If not whatever you have controlling the ignition is the culprit. Good luck.

FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I pulled the DelTeq system and put on the stock coil/ICM from a buddy's '94 Impala SS with 144k miles...engine ran beautifully. No codes, no hiccups. Runs smooth, temperature stays low, and the power is back.

I'm not going to bash DelTeq, but I didn't see putting $1 into fixing an aftermarket ignition system where I really didn't know where the problem resided. I was getting engine codes, but didn't know what they meant because the ECM was probably as confused as I was!

Going back to stock never felt so good.
