What are the best runners? AS&M, SLP, Edelbrock, TPIS, LPE, etc. Are there any sites that have directly compared these against one another? Thanks.
I have used both the ASM Large Tubes & SLP siameses runners.
I never had any complaints with either, however I ported my plenum to match the SLP's.
The main difference obviously other than the siamesed, is the shorter runner length.
Accel would be last on my list, they are a cast runner like the SLP which means in addition to the outer surfaces the inner surfaces are also rough. You could always have them Extrude Honed but it's not worth the expense IMO.
The TPIS runners are are extruded aluminum, actually made by ASM like someone mentioned. ASM also sells siamesed runners as well if you have heads & a good cam.
on that note where is a good place to buy the asm runners? anyone know the best price? i'll be using a edelbrock base with a port clean up job & some minor radius work. i just am not sure i like the looks of the edelbrock runners & if the asm's a better they sound like the hot ticket.
