removing air pump
i have an 87 vette with a noisy air/smog pump, is it possible to remove the inside of the pump whilst leaving the end pulley in place? if so how or can i buy a replacement pulley to take up the slack in the belt?
thanks
andy

Yes. I bought the AIR eliminator pulley, it sure look a lot nicer. But you can open up the assembly and basically just gut it out, leaving only the pieces that support the pulley to the housing.

You can take it apart and break the fibre fins inside off no problem but you noise you have may be from bad bearings.

Just go to Advance Auto and get one for $56.00 with a lifetime warranty. If it goes bad you get a new one and it only take 15 minites to replace...WW
