Default tpi question

after a quick search on tpi conversions i found out that the camaro tpi setup is different then the corvette setup

but what i couldnt find is whats actully different is it just the wire harness wont match up to our cars? or just because the computer has a different tune in it? or what am i missing? theres 87 Iroc with a tpi sitting in the local junkyard and if i can make this work id love to ditch my crossfire injection in a second

TPI would be a good thing to do. They have as much torque as LT1, without the need for premium gas.

The parts you can probably get dirt cheap, but you will have to do some researchin tho'...

The TPI is very similiar accross the camaro, corvette. The main difference is the year. You'll want to check for a 9th injection in that IROC setup. Also, before you buy consider getting the edelbrock TPI base and runners as the CFI may actually have more flow potential.

You'll need an aftermarket computer setup (8 + 1 injectors vice the TWO you have right now

Best bet for a bolt in is for the "X ram" that I vaguely remember the cross-fire guys talking about. Other than that, everything ($2500-4500 must be replaced.

If you are down on power you may just need a good cleaing for the intake, injectors, vacuum lines, etc...

The difference between the F-body TPI and the Corvette TPI is the fuel rails are different. The Inlet/Outlet is on the driver's side for the F-body, corvette is on the passenger side. Other than that yes the years are different. '85-'88 all have the 9nth injector, '90-'91 have a provision for the MAP sensor.
