I got to thinking and wondered how much of a task it would be to make a dual ram air intake like the c5 has available in the aftermarket.
I was thinking replace both fog lights with black mesh wire to keep it hidden and then run the hose.
What about using the brake duct spoiler and just use the ducts for the air intake?
Hmmm dropping it that low would put alot of bend in the housing woudnt it?
I was thinking of making it as straight as possible.
But that would eliminate the need to remove and cut the front bumper/fotlights
The stock system is really pretty good, why do you hate it? I made a crude ram air system. You can make a home made front plate. I used a $2.79 sheet of aluminum to make the inside scoop. One of these days I will make something nicer, with an enclosed filter. Like the full A/O kit that is $500 or something insane. Here are some pictures:
The stock system gets cold air but not ram air so I thought I'd experiement with this.
cool air is always better than hot, but ram effects from body pick-ups have been proven to have negligble effect at speeds under 100 mph, and indeed duct friction losses in extended systems will likely reduce engine output at lower speeds...if you have good tires and a good lawyer, go for it
On my year you have to take off the front bumper, there are something like 50 screws. Then you could saw the fog light off of the blinker. Or use a different blinker. They are all one part together.
I have an 87 with the stalker front end the fog/ blinker lights set back about 4 inches so they are like 2 big air funnels I have thought about doing the same thing but I could not figure out how to get the duct's from the blinker lights to the air filter or throttle body so if you figure that out show some pics I would love to see them
