I just got my system in the mail and have put the Y pipe and cat connector together, and the power capsules to the tips, but it seems that I have two capsules for the same side. They are invoiced as the same part but seem to both go on the same side. With one are you supposed to flip it over (to make the **** face out) and then just unscrew and flip the label? or do I have two of the same exact thing?
I can't remember exactly if my PE's were the same #'s, but I do remember taking off the name plate and turning it right side up or was it right side down.
Well, you get the idea.
Best bet is give PE a call, if it is not right - They will make it RIGHT.
Do the ***** turn opposite ways as installed on the car. If i turned the name plate and tip one baffle would open one way and the other the opposite. Does this matter at all?
The part #'s are the same because its the exact same part. Power Effects cut down on production costs buy simply making one "Power Capsule". Like it was said before, remove the plate from one of the capsules and screw it in on the other side. Make sure that you mount the plates in the right direction and not upside down. It's easiest to lay everything out in the proper order before you begin. When you mount them, the ***** should be facing out (like the "power effects" plates) By design, the ***** will turn in different directions. Hope this helps. :chevy
Joe at PE told me that in the installation instructions it says to flip the name plate on the driver's side capsule. Yes, the **** turns in opposite directions.
I found out the hard way like you did. I didn't see that in the instructions, but changed the label on my own. I sure was embarassed when I called Joe to tell him they sent me 2 of the same side, but I mounted it anyway.
It's a great system, and the easiest mod I've done to my car yet. Something always goes wrong when I work on my cars, but this was a breeze....rhino ramps on a gravel driveway. :)
Talked to Joe-- problem solved-- i figured thats what would happen but everythings so parfect i wasnt sure if you actually had to change somthing. He left me a THOROUH 5 min. message-- gotta love good service.
Just remember to set up the parts on the floor before installation. It will let you know if you are missing a part, and will make sure you don't have any parts left over! :D
