I need some input on a problem with my 1988.
It is difficult to start and is showing a code 34. I know this is typically MAF related.
I unplugged the MAF and got a Code 33.
I replaced one of the MAF relays (parts store only had one, so I testest the new one in both sockets while using an the old one in the opposite socket. Still code 34. Since I figured it was unlikely that both went bad at the same time, I am guessing it isn't the relay.
So, what's next? Replace the MAF Sensor? Any help is greatly appreciated.
For this, get only the OEM part. NAPA should have it.
I'm sure Vader has his reason for using only the OEM MAF........I've been running a Micro Tech MAF with no problems...only $172 and it is all "brand new"...comes with a Limited Life-time replacement warranty....as long as you don't alter it (cut the screens out or dirll holes in it) they will replace it for free if it fails. Note: Micro Tech MAF does not use the same filament wire style as the Bosh.
