Another consideration for TPI owners is the matter of cable hook-ups.

The LSx-style throttle body is actuated by cables terminating on
the right (pass) side of the TB. Owners with automatic transmissions
will need to work out how to operate the TV cable for the 700R4, in
addition to making alternate arrangements for the throttle cable.

Maybe it might be simpler for Edelbrock (or a forum entrepreneur) to
offer an adapter for mounting a TPI TB to the LSx TB flange of the
intake.

This would reduce or eliminate the cabling issue, along with the cost
of the 90mm TB. It might also provide for more hood clearance.

Edit: Change to 'right (pass)' from 'left (pass)'.

Alternatively, it may be feasible to find and adapt a 90mm TB that
is equipped for cables on the left (driver's) side to the P-FXT.

Member Z01#316's F.I.R.S.T. intake has a monoblade with left-side
cabling.

I was going to but I got hung up on the singleplane. For me it didn't make sense to draw the air from the front as my blower was on the side.

For naturally aspirated motors it should be a pretty good intake. I expect with the LSx throttle body it will perform a little better than the miniram. Unless you have driven the exact same car/engine with a twin bore and LSx throttle body you don't understand the difference.

Thanks guys, that was a fun intake to build.

Hopefully someone will post up some pix of a Pro Flo XT on a C4 soon!

Hmm, HSR is seemingly not a Pro Flo XT.

You did bump this however, anyone tried this manifold yet?

it's gotta flow pretty good. it's got 5 inch runners and what looks like a pretty decent design.

engine specs:
355-cube small-block with 10.3:1 compression, AFR 190cc aluminum heads, and an Isky hydraulic roller cam with 0.505/0.530 lift and 225/234 duration at 0.050. Exhaust is handled by a set of Hooker Super Comp 1 3/4-inch headers feeding into dual 2 1/2-inch pipes.

That cam is a little on the low side for those heads. that could account for the smaller HP figure.

Yes, hopefully this is just the beginning. It looks like it kept pulling pretty strong until they stopped the dyno. I'd really like to know what this would look like on a 383.

Thanks Underpar!

Interesting to see the TQ & HP curves cross at 4,900 RPM, instead
of at 5,250. My vote is that something is wrong with the plots.

Courtesy: Hot Rod

Also, the 'Before' curve for the Performer Air-Gap suggests the
owner's dual-plane intake was more fun around town than the
P-FXT. While not in scope, inclusion of Edelbrock's RPM Air-Gap
dual-plane would have caused some ripples.
