My 1993 will sometimes not start (always starts after sitting overnite)--the engine will fire & run about 1-2 seconds & then die--will do this for 10 to 15 tries before it actually starts--runs fine after that--never a miss or anything--noticed that sometimes while driving that the security light & the SYS light will flash 3 times every 15 seconds--they sometimes will stop flashing while driving & then start up again--i think they are related to my no-start problem, but my mechanic can't figure it out--anyone had this problem & how was fixed? Would really love to stop at the store for beer & know the car will start when time to leave. Thanks

I agree if the car cranks and you have injector pulses you don't have a Vats issue.
Get a hold of a fuel pressure gage and do a fuel system check first. Check for proper pressure and bleed down times. If the fuel system check produces no problems or issues you may then want to ohm out the fuel injector coils too.
