I removed all of the dashboard covers :nono: to see what was underneath them, I didn't touch any wires, but when I went back to my car
an hour later, the interior lights didn't turn on, the antenna to the radio wouldn't go up and the radio would not play tapes. The car
starts and runs no different and the headlight/brake lights work, what did I do? How do I fix it? :cry :cry :cry
By covers I meant the plastic pieces over the heater, radio and air vents, also the cover to the digital dashboard.
I'll check the fuses tomorrow morning, maybe I knocked a fuse loose by accident.
Nyvette:
Check the CTSY fuse on the main fuse panel. That feeds the courtesy lights and also the power antena on my '91. The post about the long screw is a good one- good thing to check. If you're going to do a lot of work on the car yourself get a set of GM manuals they're really handy. I got this info from the electrical diagnosis supplement for my '91.
Good luck
Walt
I am going from memory here, but I think that the fuse in question is in Aux. fuse block #2, which is suspended in the wiring behind the knee bolster on the passenger side. Take a look. I think that there are about 6 or 8 fuses in that block, and the problem could lie in one of them.

The CTSY fuse looks blown to me, along with the one below it, a red one, I'm going to check the other ones to see if any more
are damaged, and I'll take a look at the second fuse box. Thanks guys.
I made a list of things that don't work- Radio resets all the presets and doesn't make any sound not even static. The cigerette lighter is also not working anymore, the under hood lights also are not working, the power door locks don't work, but the power windows work fine, the rear hatch works and so does the heater.
By the Aux. fuse box # 2 you mean the silver box labeled BOSCH, do I open the box up or what?
Would the local Chevy dealer have the fuses I might need?
Nyvette:
What exactly did you do? You might try taking out some of the screws you put in and see if you can get the problem to go away. From what I can see the lighter isn't on the same circuit as the antenna and courtesy lights- on my '91 anyway. You might want to take a good look aroung the fuse block and be sure there isn't a screw or something poking in there. I'm doing some more digging to see if there is anything in common on any of these. Oh, any car parts place should have the fuses.
I finally found the problem, most of the fuses in the box were blown, I don't no why it happened but I just finished replacing them and the car is back to normal. The damn autoparts store charged me nine bucks for the eight fuses I needed, I think he ripped me off. But the car is better so Thanks for all of your help!
