Default Driveshaft?

Will my driveshaft from my 88 4+3 fit when I switch it over to an auto trans? As long as I put a Auto front yoke on her right? Or will it be too short? Pipe That might be one less thing I gotta buy or trade for

I don't know what the balancer on the auto shafts is for ; few other cars have them.
I just used the whole manual DS in my auto conversion. Yokes are the same; 27 splines units used on most GM trans

Can I ask you guys what's the length of you're driveshaft. Maybe it's me but it sure seems it's really short in length. Thanks for answering my questions though. Pipe

Compared to most cars it is short.
F-bodies are around 44"
D36 one I have here is 27.5" c/c of the uni's.
D44 one is shorter again.

The transmission doesn't change the length of the drive shaft needed. The '85 up manual transmission cars use a drive shaft that is 13/16" shorter than the automatic cars, because of the longer nose of the Dana 44 used in '85 up manuals. The length of the transmissions is the same. Ditto on the slip yoke. The 6 speed uses a 32 spline output shaft, but all the autos and the 4+3 use 27 spline.
