I have seen older vettes that have a totally different air intake filter. One of the 360 degree oval filters. Is there anything for an 89 that can be done to increase the flow of air to the engine?
You are probably referring to the Vortex ram air intake. No, you won't get horsepower gains from it or really any aftermarket cold air intake on the L-98. The runners and exaust are where the restrictions are. You could get a aftermarket intake for looks but thats about it. All horsepower claims are false claimed from the seller. You can cut your lid open and put in a reusable K&N air filter which can give you 5-8 horsepower. Beyond that, it is a waste of time and money. Sorry to be so blunt but I would hate for you to waste your money and not get what you are expecting.

Thanks for the input. Any photos of what a "Cut lid" looks like? I have been asking that one too.
This is a aftermarket one. Your stock one will suffice. Just take a pair of snips or a dremel and cut out the entire middle section. You don't need to waste 40.00 dollars on something thats free!
