no to ground clearance.. it remains the same none of the turbo system is below the lowest point of the engine.. it just requires some thought to do correctly is all..

yes from the tranny back is a regular exhaust system. making it so it connects easily is my goal so that existing exhaust systems can be used since owners have alreay purchased them!

Looking good! So what do you think the cost would be for the kit w the single?

The car is finished and running great. I had one snag which I am fixing today.. needed to add some capacity to the oil pan as even the windage tray and some extra baffling isn't completely curing the acceleration oil pressure fluctuation.. so adding some kickout to the pan to add about 2.5 quarts to the sump.. this should alleviate al the problems with that and then I can turn the boost up past 13 psi.

No dyno numbers as of yet, I just finished street tuning the part throttle and WOT for this moderate boost level but I can say from the feeling of it it is right around 650rwhp all on pump gas and 13 PSI with conservative timing. car pulls very strong straight through to redline of 6400.. goes further with no noticeable drop in acceleration but I want to make sure it is still truly making power up top.

I have a street car challenge here this Sunday at Coastal Plains raceway in Jacksonville, NC and the weather is looking very favorable.. I am still deciding whether or not to run the pump gas tune or put some race fuel in and turn the boost up for the track event.. I will make that call saturday afternoon after some testing to see how well the car will stick to the ground. right now it hazes all the way through 1st and 2nd gear with a gentle roll on with 315 nittos DR's out back. no snese overpowering the track but I do expect some solid numbers if the IRS stays in one piece.

I will venture a guess of some high 10's on the pump gas tune in the low 130's mph range with a soft launch..

we'll see!

95wht6spd,

as for a kit for this LTx C4.. that would require being built here for fitment reasons.. it is VERY snug in there and even with Jigs and fixtures I would be very weary about trying to make a one size fits all.. some cars may have the slightest variances in the engine bay that would create a fitment issue.

I would be happy to talk to you via phone or PM, feel free to shoot me a message!

Do you have any pics of intercooler up front?
Also, what source are you using for intercooler.

there are soem intercooler pictures online in the forum archives, that hasn't changed, nothing spectacular, it sits in front of the radiator under the shroud and piping is as seen in the pictures along in the archives.

the kickouts on the oil pan worked wonders, my oil pressure fluctuation is cured and rock steady through all gears of acceleration now. I have the wastegate oiff the car this evening and will be doing some tricked out boost controlling tomorrow after alot of reading and some math I have decided on a poressure regulated top port design boost controlling setup. similar to the electronic controllers which utilize a bleeder solenoid and a elecronic controller to regulate pressure to the top port of the wastegate which effectively increases the pressure differential on both sides of the valves diaphram.

I am currently tuned through 19psi on a 5/gallon 118 octane + 10 gallons of 93 octane mixture and the car is running VERY well at this level. I am almost out of injector, at 83-84% duty cycle on the 83lber's with a base pressure of 45psi. I am going to turn her up a little more on a higher octane mixture tomorrow and see how she feels..

I have decided to go to E85 even though the nearest pump is about 2 hours away.. so I will be ordering a set of 160lb/hr injectors and another fuel pump which will be turned on at a preset boost level with an inline check valve. and then I will see how far I can take it with corn fuel.

after I get the new tune finished I will be heading to the dyno for some numbers on straight race gas and as much boost as the current injectors and A1000 fuel pump will take it.. so sometime this week or maybe this weekend I should have some numbers up to look at!

here is a log graph.. tomorrow those MAP numbers will be 20+

I just found this video from the track day last weekend. this video was with the car on 14psi and seriously traction limited in 1st and 2nd gear when boost came on and got a little squirly in 3rd gear but then 4th hooked very nicely unfortunately it was at the end of the track but with traction you see how it pulls off.

TRACK VIDEO, LIMITED TRACTION!

hopefully with some sticky tires (thanks to Neat lending them to me) on novenmber 9th at the track event I will be attending I am hopping the car hold traction and will be on kill mode at whatever boost levels the fuel system in the car will hold.. I am praying the driveline hold together!

Very good Chris

I plan on 160# injectors as well. The Bosch are supposed to have better idle quality than the 96's

Anyway, I am getting underway myself.
I plan on 2 -040 pumps in the tank for fuel support and I will stage them with BS3

The E85 is interesting because of the octane improvement, the problem I see with it, is when its blended with pumpgas the afr will be all over the place.
However if you run pure E85 and turn the boost up, I see huge value because of the octane. The next step is methenal

Updates are..... the T76 is now sold from the car and I am awaiting the new head unit.... ran out of turbo on the 76mm.. think the hot side was too small so figured while I was upgrading the turbine side may as well just upgrade the whole thing soooo..

on the way is a Precision PT88 turbo.. the larger turbine wheel should help alleviate some turbine inlet pressure and I will be rebuilding the AC box to fit a 4" downpipe to reduce the turbine outlet pressure as well and let this monster breath a little better.

I was loosing boost in the upper RPM's on the smaller turbo.. the new unit will be a bit laggier but the 76 spooled lightening fast on the car and I won't mind a little more leg for the advantage of a steady boost line in the upper RPM's

I was getting 22psi and then fall off down to 16-17pounds.. it felt amazing don't get me wrong but I could feel the motor was being held back so the upgrade in my eyes was a necessity. I plan on pushing the new turbo to its max, the new fuel pump is on its way which will support all I can throw at it and hopefully enough pressure to get the 83lb squirters to at least 24-25 pounds of boost.. with the money i spent on it and the new head unit the 160lber's will need to take a back seat.. I will be happy when she pulls to redline without boost fall off at 24-25pounds though.. she pulls HARD and I mean hard... with the cold weather snap we had it was not difficult at all to find the rear end loose at interstate speeds even with the 315 nitto's out back.. and 4th gear was just frighteningly fast.. the midrange torque from the fast spool on a heads and cammed V8 is hard to beat.. it feels like nailing a 700ci + race motor only a little smoother with a continuous pull.

so for now its the brief waiting game while the turbo and fuel pump are on the way.

I will post back up when it gets here with pictures but to give a comparison I found this picture.. the nice thing about the PT88 is it fits the kit I build fine due to the physical size of the unit itself.. it is a sleeper unit until the filter comes off and you see what lurks inside!

will update next weekend when it shoulkd be back on the road and tuning in the new found airflow!

Really nice turbo upgrade. I look forward to hearing the results of the larger turbo.

With regard to the pull at high boost, it is just something that is extremely hard to put into words. It has to be felt to understand. I had a guy with a heavily gassed 347 that rode in my car when I was just getting to the very low 20 psi range (maybe 21-22) and his comment was that it just keeps pulling so damn hard and pushing you harder and harder back into the set when in 4th. Fun stuff.

Are you having any issues with spark snuff? Running xxOH injection or all IC? What sort of gaps on the plugs? You may remember that I fought that issue for some time when I got into the mid 20s. I would be interested in how you countered these issues.

Aaron, Currently I am stiull running the rbeak in plugs which are the cheapo Autolite 104's and I have them gapped down to .029"

so far I have not had any issue with blowing spark out but I did on my last setup in the low 20 psi range.. switching over to the NGK TR7iX iridiums cured it to 23psi.. never went past that mark. I am running the dual synch dizzy with a factory style MSD coil and MSD 6A.. so far so good no trouble out of any of the ignition yet! Hope it stays that way.

Yeah the taller the gear the harder the thing pulls.. I remember the days with just a hot cammed and heads 350.. I remember thinking that 4th and 5th were still lazy gears even with 375rwhp...

in the video I posted you can see the 4th gear pull with traction and what it looks like next to a 05 GTO on it wide open at the end of the track... you really do walk away from most cars just that fast.. it is pretty damn fun if I do say so myself!

You got my respect here. I understand the time and energy it takes to do the whole job on a vehicle, but the enjoyment you get when finally getting to drive the car is always worth it. Keep up the good work.
