Was wondering since i'm changing my 4+3 manual to an Automatic will I need to change the Wiring Harness over to a Automatic Harness to make the Trans work? It's going in my 88 THANKS Pipe
You can use a harness if you want to but no drama to rework existing wiring.
VSS stays the same , bring backup switch wiring up through one of the left over holes to shifter position and extend the clutch switch wiring through the console to the shifter for park / neutral inhibitor switch.,

If I recall, isn't there a 2nd gear or 4th gear input wire as well?
Joe, I never worried about the gear switches in my conversion and never had a problem.Have to pull out the FSM to confirm but think they go closed when in gear .If open or disconnected as in my case the ECM doesn't know any different as it is no seeing an input.
Probably easiest to get auto program burnt on memcal.
Forgot TCC.
Pete K the expert but can be wired internally to only lockup in 4th
