AC Controller going out ?

AC Controller going out ?
The AC controller works but the numbers do not show up . The degrees just flash and then they are gone. So since I can't see the numbers I have no idea what my ac settings are. Is it safe to say that it is the unit itself ? I can get on for about 30.00 bucks. Is this a fair price?

Hi,
I would remove the controller unit from the front dash. It is mostly a job of removing the cosmetic covers. It just might be a dirty contact problem. I believe the unit inserts on a printed circuit board with plated contacts.
