Default LT1 engine ?

I am looking for a engine, mine is about to bite the dust. I keep seeing LT1 engines for sale for Camaro's, etc.., but they all say they will not fit the vette, WHY?

I thought the only difference between the 2, was the 2 bolt main for the camaro and the vette had a 4 bolt main.

The accessories and other bolt ons have differences between the B, F and Y bodies..

The short block on B, F and Y are the same and heads on the F and Y bodies are the same, so just use the shortblock/heads from the camaro and use all the other parts from your vette and you should be fine.

Default Rebuild the Original

Would't it be better for the value of the car to rebuild the original motor?

The Y lt1 has a 4 bolt main and F body has 2 bolt. I suppose the OP could switch the acc brackets and put it in correct?

Wasn't the HB different on the F body too? I know they do not swap and IIRC it sticks out farther not sure if the crank is longer or not or if you can swap the hub and balancer from a 'Vette to the F LT1.
