yeah i made tons of calls too, from the get-go i told ron there are no shorties for the L98, suffice to say this was the achillies heal of our professional relatonship.

i'll be glad to post the results of the build, god only knows i spent just as much time, energy and not to mention money, to make this happen. and it has not stopped yet, and i be glad when its over.

on the other hand, if you guys don't like me anymore and think i took advantage of your dear beloved helpless friend, then i'll go away and never come back, it's fine with me.

i did most of the planning and purchasing of parts for fabrication for the smog stuff, you can belive it or not, really there was conflicting of approaches to tackle the smog problem, i wanted it my way,

ron was really "leave it for the muffler guy" approach.

i even wanted to go long tubes, but somebody else wanted it another way, which i don't get, basically that's my problem to deal with later.

so life will goes on, my feelings aren't bruised, i hope no corvette owners are that sensitive, some things in life just don't work out.

You could have been driving this a week ago if you had just followed through and trusted me. On your email Im afriad you and this new "Corvette racer" mechanic "Jorge" are going to make a huge mistake, he does not understand how that system discussed works like he thinks he does.

More than one member, the machinist and vendors went out of their way for us to make this happen with time/bidget constraints; We got a lot of favors here.. The fact this car was to get ink was their incentive .In the end we all look like fools as you (again) last minute took your car somewhere else. Im not only dissapointed but left in a really bad spot $ wise.

Your car and your money though, youre right about that.

If youd like to post results for the guys feel free.
I did not ask for any favors, period and ron thanks for calling a paying customer BS

i had qmp assemble the longblock in the interests of speeding things up, and that's the truth! since you were busy, so what the shortblock was there anyways, i paid him and he still needed to balance the flywheel, i don't see the big deal is with that,

your columnist can still write about the build what prevents that?
there are just some changes no one died, it's not the end of the world.

you don't look like fools, stuff happens, i paid the machinist fully and if he did me any favors over and above what i had contracted for i did not ask, or knew what to ask, how could i ask him for favors if i don't know what to ask for?.

i did not ask for "ink" it was your idea and to incentify the vendors with such is not my doing.

hey i was just looking to build an engine not destroy egos and friendships and aquintances.

man i'm innocent.

one more thing, i do not just trust people and follow through, that is not the way i operate, but i will consider workable solutions, any agreement here?? anyone?

we are still looking into all the smog ideas, not just my idea and as soon as we feel it is viable insofar as visual and function, we'll implement, so that's not a forgone conclusion as you have depicted.

sorry i ron i don't want to air our laundry here publically but the thing about driving the car now, was diffenantly not in the cards, due to circumstances that i'll respect you should have in private.

it was not my intention to enlist other members without paying them

this forum was created to share info, but in my case if it does not apply then fine.

i believe paying 4500 bucks for a 2 bolt main is not that much of a bargain, fair but no favors, it's not some kind of magic engine, these things were making hp years ago, we are not reinventing the wheel.

i wanted an ebay crate motor, rememeber that conversation?, you talked me out of it, and i wanted tpis's zz9 cam but you had a better idea, yet again you talked me out of it, so it's my fault you made recommendations? and i am somehow obliged because i went with those reccomendations, it was your way from the beginning, i was good with that.

ireally had no idea or why your way was better than the zz9 cam , but you were persistant, so it's my fault that i said yes when i didn't have a choice but to say yes and write checks to all that you have contacted including tony at afr, brad and others
and the afr 195 eliminators are stock,

i paid rightous amounts for the port work, manifold

now why am i the culprit and being accused of putting people in compromised $ spots?

i loose deals all the time in my business, it happens, it just didn't work out, i felt that i would be better elsewhere how hard is that to understand?

to be a man, i say i'm sorry, i'll take the blame for everything, now is that what you want? it's sincere because this is such a no big deal, that i'll own the fault,

now if we can move on.

now on a differnt note, if you are sitll curious about ron's vision and the power the engine makes and where that power is, powerband etc, i'll be more than happy to be a part of this community, if you all are sooooo. scared from this experience vicariously i might add, then of course you have shown me the door and i know how to leave.

You emphasized you wanted so save wherever possible so I did mt best to make it happen.

When Im counting on paying the rent and cant due to someone inserting their own rules it is for me.Thats a big deal. I will not get labor ahead and money behind, its happened to me too many times.
I have to move now. Whatever.

you don't look like fools, stuff happens, i paid the machinist fully and if he did me any favors over and above what i had contracted for i did not ask.
He gave you $400 off for a total of $3500. You wont get anything remotely similar off of an Ebay POS; that is a professionally built and blueprinted motor, there is a huge difference. The additional $1000 ran up after the 1st time it was to be installed didnt happen and I asked you to pick your parts up and have him finish it/upgrade a few things ...It was included on this end.

i did not ask for "ink" it was your idea and to incentify the vendors with such is not my doing.
You agreed as it would save you some money.

man i'm innocent.

i do not just trust people and follow through,
I see.

we are still looking into all the smog ideas,
This here is the hangup. What you are wanting to do will NOT work. I cannot install something if I know its wrong or could potentially cause an issue with the car. Its not always about the buck.
This is why I recommended having a good muffler guy who can cut/braze/weld it up to be right.
Even Y pipes that are supposed to "bolt in" most the time dont:mine had to be cut and welded with stock manifolds.

sorry i ron i don't want to air our laundry here publically
Good idead. I am not flaming you but a bit under the gun, yes. I felt I had your best interests in mind with this...If you want to do something else noone is stopping you. You have a stronger motor than you think it would be a shame to see a problem due to someones ignorance.

i.

and the afr 195 eliminators are stock,
You saved a little money on them and got them from a cast slug to finished in 4-1/2 days. Most wait weeks.
Thank Tony and Jeremy for that one.

i paid rightous amounts for the port work, manifold
No more than anyone else. Its going to work well to boot.
There is easily 20-30 hours in the base not counting runners or anything else. Divide that into $450.
CHEAP!

The fact is you had another shop waiting in the wings the entire time and were going back and forth for whatever reason bothered me but thats your business.

Im not flaming you , just defending myself.
I did what I was supposed to do and then some. In fact I think the whole thing (this bantering) is silly and a waste of time; Ive requested it gets locked so it doesnt get ugly and people get upset. This is pointless.

Now drop it and go finish your car.

Only reason people here are asking is there are a lot of TPI guys here that wanted to see how this turned out is all. Of course they are going to ask.

i didn't want perfect, you did, i had a budget, who here never heard of a budget? if i was too low the the service provider does not have to take the deal,i did them a favor not the other way around; in this economy, i am a paying customer period.

and then compalin about it forever,

if they do as sometrimes in my business, i make conccessions, i still deliver top notch service and don't prejuduce the project because they got a good deal,

deals are made all the time and they are all different, i take the small with the large and the easy with the not so easy, simple as that.

like i said that's how it went down, im not here to mess with peoples lives, i just wanted a motor and this is going down as one of the silliest, childish and desparate and hectic things i've ever been thru.
