1987 Vette - Under Hood Lights Question

One of the 2 underhood lights is not working (worked several days ago). Switched bulbs and both bulbs ok but pass side still out. Noticed there appears to be another "solid bulb" at the top of the socket and suspect may be the problem. Questions is; are there any other replaceable parts in the light housing other than the bulb itself? Thanks

Solid Bulb In Housing

There is a mercury switch in each housing.

Mercury Switch

Is that switch replaceable and does it come out?

If you make incorrect connections like I did when I tried to repair my underhood lights, they will stay on all the time. I ended up having to buy new housings to correct the problem.

It looks like the lead in a bullet not sure if its replacable, I have on & off switches on my underhood lamps
