Now that's pretty stinking cool and a very representative view. It'd be great to show the wife, just how the whole shebang goes together. Now if only you can click a button and start adding the AIR pump, AC Compressor, AIR diverter valves, vacuum hoses, etc, etc (but then you'd hardly be able to see the motor )

Thanks for the cool linkee!

Sad to see a nice engine with a TPI on it, even if it's just an animation. It had splayed 4 bolt mains, double roller timing chain, roller rockers.

I'm sorry, what? Are you saying built engines work well with stock TPI's on top of them?

Yes actually.

TCCC makes you run the TPI on the road courses in some classes.
http://www.tccracing.com/gettingstarted.htm

They're great road racers

Would it be faster with a miniram? sure
But if you have to run it on a built engine, or if your autoxing with it, they're fine.

They've even been run in SpeedGT

A tpi wont make any horsepower but an experienced engine builder can build a fuel efficient torque monster outta one. Had a 1992 camaro with a built 4 bolt 383 sbc with dart iron eagles and a completely stock tpi system save for injectors, throttle body, chip and fuel pump. She had 590 lb ft torque. It wasnt a low speed acceleration machine but it would mop the floor with people at highway speeds between 70-150 with 2.73's. Best of all 33 mpg at 105 mph cruising speed in a camaro! Top speed 179 mph.

This stuff has come a long way from the old "Desktop Dyno" program that came on a 3.5" floppy disc!

Very cool find!

Yeah, I've heard of TCC. It's one thing to build a setup to the limit of the rules (if you're not cheating, you're not tryng), but quite another to blow money on a built motor and choke it when you don't have to.

I've been doing it all wrong! I thought I wanted my intake to flow. Like I said above, you CAN force a setup to breathe through a restrictive intake if you have to, but that doesn't mean there isn't a better way to do it.

Id like to hear the specifics on that build.

I am going to attempt to take a ported to the max TPI base, aftermarket runners and flow them on a few aftermarket heads to really see whats what. Should be interesting.
