Default need help determining optimum shift points

i now have a miniram and bigger cam. the car shifts at 5700 1-2 and 5000 2-3. it seems way too early.i have the b/m governor recalibration kit. if i keep the car in first, it will rev to at least 6400 mabye more. without a dyno, at what rpm do you think i am making the most power? i only want to recalibrate the gov. once or as little as possible as i have to remove the exhaust to get to the governor. the cam is lunati 60103 227/233@.05 110lsa/106ica, power band 1800-6200rpm

thanks in advance

matt

Any adjustment you make is going to be a complete shot-in-the-dark waste of time without a dyno pull to go off of. The only redneck method I know is to get a g meter and put the car in third gear. Then run it wide open from a standing start all the way until you hit the rev limiter. You are going to want to shift about 2-400 rpm before the point when the car loses its momentum and starts to even out on acceleration. Try this method it should get you close but you really need either an engine or chassis dyno pull to see where your torque curve is.

A wild guess is shift at 6200 for each shift. Good luck getting that on the first governor change, I had to make at least four changes and it could still be better.
