Default Back up switch

Can any one tell me the wrenches and any tricks to changing a back up switch on a 95 with 6 speed trans. The dealer is quoting $98.00 labor. Must be a 15 min job

I don't remember the size (get your new switch and check it against that) somewhere around 1" to 1-1/8" or metric equivalent, DEEP offset box-end wrench. I couldn't use a socket, but don't remember why.

This was on my 91 with a ZF 6 spd.

Do you have access to a lift? It helps. There's not a lot do doing it but it's a PITA because of access clearance.

Good Luck!

Actually, no. I have to buy XL gloves, and they're still usually to small to wear comfortably. Someone who's 5'6" 130# would have a helluva lot easier time reaching in there than I did!
