Sweet, glad to see you getting started! Very exciting taking those first steps into a turbo setup!

I am not sure if I remember correctly but you were looking for a mostly drag setup right? I think those turbos are going to be dissapointing on your 434ci motor they are VERY small for that combination especially with good flowing heads and a decent sized camshaft.

I would not use anything smaller then a T4 based turbo in twins on that displacement engine just for the choke factor. I would probably investigate something similar to a GT4094 which has a good flowing turbine wheel GT40 series or if you want to stay with the Precision which I am also a huge fan of I would try the PT67HPQ, especially with your 4L80 automatic tranny setup. these turbos would make a wonderful power band to redline without choking the motor up.

but the 61mm will spool lightening fast for a street car setp.. just be a little lack luster shortly after torque peak. much like a stock L98 setup. so if your naturally aspirated power band is more on the big end a larger set of turbos are going to compliment your power output better.

Chris

Thanks
Chris.
One will have to wait and see the track results. 60' time means a lot in 1/4mi.
I put 3-6K per year on the car, pump gas, but still race 6 to 10 times during the racing months. Right now a 50/50 trade off so, my goal is to be a street car, but perform well at the track too.

There was another guy on this forum that had a twin turbo L-98 with T3's on it. I think his name was gold something or other. This guy ran an 11.5 in the quarter. He ended up ripping up his setup to get larger turbos in there. Just something to think about. With that 434ci you aren't going to have any issues spooling two T4's and you aren't going to want to spool them below 3500rpm anyways. Unless you are at the track and then you can brake boost the thing for a launch.

And just an added note, large pics are nice, except when you have to scroll across the page to figure out what the picture is of. Alot of us are in the 1024x768 resolution still.

Any updates?

Where did you get those headers? They look pretty nice and equal length, unlike most of those premade headers out there.

Default Getting Started

Planning on moving the BS3 out of engine bay and putting in the car on the passenger side.

Working with PTE on intercooler

Fabricating another pully, going to move alternator to the right side of TB

Couple of pics getting things mocked up to figure out what needs to ge relocated.

I think I am going to delete the OE cooling fans too, and opt for a single fan. Still pending depending on how I get the cold 2.5" pipes ran

Looks like you are making some good progress.

When I moved my CPU I put it inside the glove box. It keeps things out of the way and looks nice when you are just driving it around. You can pull out the inner plastic tray and drill a hole strait back to get to the engine area.

So where did those headers come from?

Removed the stock Fuel lines and pulled the pump today

My plan is to install two -40 Bosch pumps on the existing sender. Going to be a bit tricky I think. I will post pics when done.

Passenger side is cleaned up and down pipe install.

I will take ones advice and move the BS3 into the glove box. It will be easy to get the harness into the engine bay, its a straight shot.

Intercooler still on the list of things to do yet. Took some measurement, with the radiator tiped forward from the stock location, doesn't leave much room above radiator for the snout of the IC. I may be dropping the radiator 2" by removing the fiberglass belly it sits in and just fabricate up aluminum angle back to the frame.

I tell you this, A C5 is a much easier car to work on. This thing has been a chore to say the least.

Did you sell your LT1 yet.

You and I met a few times out at Milan. I moved to Atlanta July of 2007 for business. Economy good here you know.

Too Funny
What the heck you been up to?
Dennis is in Florida now
and I am in Georgia, who would have thought?

Last weekend I ran the fuel lines
-10 supply
-8 return

Putting (2) -40 Bosch pumps in the tank this is the most challenging part.
I didn't want an external mostly because of the noise.
I still dont have the IC figured out perfectly. Pete at PTE has been good trying to make things perfect

Hi John, welcome to the world of power adders. In our thin air (DA6000-9000ft) it's a must if you really want to go fast. Once you get away from N/A you will never want to go back. By the way... it looks like you are doing a real nice job on it. Total custom fabbing everything takes tons of time. Most people have no idea how much time is involved. Good Luck!

I did these years ago, and they still look like they do in the pics. I picked up some stuff to do them over as I ended up with a slight uneven edge in that middle rail. I just never got around to fixing them up.
I also have another set of junk gills I was going to mod as well. I was thinking maybe some moving gills to do forced intake on a supercharger or something. when parked they would return to normal position. I just dont know if they would stay facing forward at speed. lol.

here is a pic of them dangeling off the car
Nicely done, I was thinking of doing that to help with the heat.
Maybe put an oil cooler where the battery is/was.
