Default coolant temp sensor question on 95 vette

i have a 95 vette and my analog temperature gauge doesnt work, but my digital temperature gauge works like it should. i was curious if these gauges have two different sensors? if so which one controls the analog gauge and where would it be located?

I only know of the sensor on the front of the waterpump. Is there another one?

There is only one sensor.....just looked it up to double check

Here is a test proceedure:

Ignition "ON" engine "off"
Disconnect the engine coolant temperature gauge sensor connector
Connect a jumper wire between the Term "A" of the connector and ground
Engine coolant temp gauge shoudl move all the way to "HOT" does it?

Answer:

Yes = replace the engine coolant temperature gauge sensor

No = Check CKT 135/35 for a poor connection or an open condition, if OK ...repair or replace insturment cluster.

Your going to need a Factory Service Manual if your going to hang onto the car I have 2 used versions posted in the C4 parts for sale section for cheap.

Yes! It is on the passenger side head. Towards the front of the head if I remember correctly.

The digital gauge is displaying the reading seen by the computer from the CTS.
Like earlier models the analog gauge is from it's own sensor

The analog gauge sender is at the rear of the engine, passenger side, near the #6 and #8 cylinder spark plugs and above the starter.

I just rechecked my double check....your right there are 2 sensors one for the digital and one for the analog...my bad.... the one you mentioned is the one your need to test...same CKT 135/35 and test as mentioned in the above post should be used.
