So much for a cheap auction car. What do you think you will have in it when you are done? Obviously it will be good as if not better than new. Keep up the good work.
Hey, Just a lesson I learned when I changed the front/rear springs. The aluminum clamps that hold the springs up into the rear have little square spacers in the rear (3 of them). Well the Standard spring FE1 for my 93 was thinner than the ZO7 spring, so the spacers were to thick, and I snapped one of the clamps.
On the front, when I lowered it the spring was thicker, (ZO7 vs FE1) and my measurements were all done with the FE1 thinner spring, OH SNAP.
Just want to make sure VB&P gave you clear instructions so you dont accidently break something when reassembling things.
Wow, looks like you're rebuilding most of the car!! I have to replace my front spring as well, I just noticed it was just starting to splinter when I was under there the other day.
I don't think you needed to remove all of that just to change the fuel filter.... I'm kidding. The first post is misleading.
All this started by just installing a new radiator and thermostat. Look how far the love for Corvettes would get you I'd say there is a huge difference between a Corvette owner and a Corvette enthusiast
Actually, that was not the first post, here follow me... Enjoy.
Thanks for sharing the spring pictures.......I've never seen one that was in that shape. In fact, I hadn't even considered that the spring could deteriorate like that. Very enlightening.

I have no idea how the heck that happened. The front monospring was also cracked but not as bas like the rear one.
I know that LT4 have not been abused or maybe not even redlined. It was owned by a older couple. Why do I say that?...The intake manifold was clean inside and the only clue for that would be:
No high RPMS to suck the oil in from the breather/PCV. My 95 intake is cover in oil. (maybe I'm wrong)
I'll take more detailed pictures of the rear one and will post them here. I've seen lots of pictures in the C4 forums but never seen a monospring like that.
And..I never took a picture of the black widows that used to live in the front monospring area and in the rear hub knucke.
That is nicer than the vette I just paid $5k for, then had to ship up to me from FL ($1000).
And I actually thought that was a good deal (at the time).
