Weird Misfire Problem.. Please Help
My car has developed a strange problem. When it is cold i can start driving it and if i am just going through the gears slowly, i can let the RPM's start going up from 2000 and between 2000 and 3000 it start sputtering and misfiring real bad. Now if i give it more gas it will go away. By more gas i mean at least 3/4 throttle. It only does this when it is cold, never after it warms up. Any suggestions? Thanx guys.

How many miles do you have on your spark plugs? Have you pulled a couple and looked at their condition? What is your initial timing? Check all of your spark plug wires with an ohmeter, they should be close to 5000 ohms per foot. Start your car on a dark night and look for sparks along the plug wires indicating bad insulation.

My son's rice burner had this same problem. We changed the plugs and wires and it went away.
