Default Battery Tender Question

I just received a Battery Tender Junior unit for Christmas. It comes with a kit to hard wire the charger to the car. Does anyone know the best way to connect this charge to a C4?

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

An eyelet under the bolts on the battery would be my suggestion. Just not between the terminals and the battery posts themselves though.

With BluRay

This is the same setup used by Harley-Davidson. In fact, you can get additional connectors for the battery end at your local HD dealer if you prefer to also use your Battery Tender on lets say a riding lawn mower or other 12V equipment. I swear by these.

Then push the cord out through the gills to plug it in. When you want to drive it, simply unplug it and tuck the cord back inside the gills. When you park it you can fish it out, plug it in, and you are back in business.

The Army once bought one of these for every humvee we had in the motor pool. They stopped when they realized how quickly they disappeared! Sad thing is they were made for a 24V system. I'm betting there were some really hot lawn mower batteries out there.

I think I still have one or two in my tool box somewhere

Do a search on the forum for "battery tender". A member Mr Mojo posted a picture of battery posts from NAPA that have threaded posts to attach leads for the tender. I purchased them there and have the set-up installed.

I removed the small eyelet terminals and attached terminals with larger holes. Then ran the battery terminal mounting bolts right through it. On the other end of the permanent wire, I just fed it up by the wipers. It's easy to reach under with two fingers to pull out and hook onto the Battery Tender Jr. I have two running most all the time.

On our C5, it is wired to the back of the alternator (easy as the wire connector slipped right over the alternator hot bolt) and grounded on frame, with connector originally routed near drivers tire well, but I re-routed it to just below the wiper arm/hood rubber seal.

Just pop the hood and connect the tender, laying the tender on the base of the windshield (as a clear reminder to unplug/remove before driving the car).
