Code 46 and No Crank - '88
Reason for the 2nd flasher attempt: to hear the turn signal over engine and road noise. Couldn't easily get to the factory flasher unit to move it near the driver so I could hear it, so tried with a 2nd flasher unit. Fail. Spliced it into the purple wire coming out of the steering column (12 v. when turn signal activated, 0 v. otherwise. Tried in parallel to ground (nothing) and then in series (worked but slower flashing).
Radio and Courtesy Lights work.
1. The FSM says to first check fuses and a circuit breaker.
The Theft fuse in the panel is OK.
How do you check the Pwr Acc circuit breaker there?
2. Then it says to check the Theft fuse in "the fuse holder that's part of the IP harness." Where is that fuse holder and what does it look like? I look under the IP panel (wiring from steering column, etc.) but don't see it there.
Thanks for your help. It's summer here and I'd like to be out there cruisin'

give me minute to research it, but in the meantime you may try pulling the theft fuse out for a minute or two. maybe even the battery ground to reset everything incase you tripped it.

SPLICE NUMBER 221
I/P Harn, behind Center I/P approx 11.5 cm right of Data Link Conn (DLC) breakout
That's the breakout not the connector itself. So where the wires for the connector splice out of the next larger harness(loom)
All circuit breakers in the fuse panel AOK.
Saw in a drawing in the FSM that the IP harness fuse holder is near the hazard flasher. Trying to judge where that is by the wimpy sounds that flasher makes. So, what IP panels do I need to remove to get at it? I'm thinking the IP Lower Trim Pad L.H. as in Figure 8C-15?
Will have to do it tomorrow since I leave for work now, having lost another beautiful sunny warm day of roadster cruisin'. I'll check for replies at work.
Cheers

Take your hand and follow the wires coming out of the back of your ALDL connector, when it runs into another loom your close. It will be within 11.5cm of there. It may be inside of that larger loom, and may be a fusible link(small black cylinder) built into the wire.
