Better yet...tomorrow I will perform a leak down test on the coolants system. That should tell me if I have a cracked head, block, or head gasket right>?
yes as long as everything is buttoned up on the coolant side. Like I say if it only does it at start up then most likely it is not a head gasket. Although if it does it for a minute or more it could be getting burned more thoroughly after the cylinder temp comes up and not showing smoke.
White smoke on start up that goes away when the temps go up could be a cracked head. It will smoke while cold but when it gets hot there is not enough water leaking in to cause it to smoke. I'd do a cooling system pressure test if you can.
Yeah I am going to do one tomorrow. I remembered earlier that I had bought a very expensive leakdown test kit for the coolant system that you hook up at the radiator. I had only used it once and put it away in the shop and forgot about it.'
If it s a leak I am going to try bars leak or a head gasket sealant. I have always had good luck with bars leak and never had a complaint myself but I have heard bad things.
Well I did the leakdown test and it held pressure well. It must be the valve guides.
New issue....Why would the plugs foul out. It seemes like they are filled with gas when I pull them. I had to dry them out to get the car started. Is there a way to regulate the fuel? I have 22 lb injectors a new pump and filter.
No way to adjust fuel pressure without installing an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, (afpr) which is a good idea anyway since you are doing mods. A weak spark will also cause wet plugs, pull a plug wire off and stick a screwdriver in the boot, have someone crank the engine while you hold the screwdriver shaft near a good ground such as exhaust manifold/header. If you get a good blue-white spark then you're okay but if it's a yellowish spark then it's time to find out why it's weak. Oh yeah, hold the screwdriver by it's handle only unless you want to feel what the spark is like.
Bad valve seals will not cause white smoke, it will be blue oil smoke.
