Hi, everyone hope you had great hoilday, my 89 c4 coupe will not start, cranks but no start, replaced wires & plugs, fuel filter & tested fuel pump. can someone give me other opptions on problem. thanks jr917
Tried the starter fluid,it started and turned off when reattached flex duct, thanks iroc57
Sounds like you have a fuel delivery problem....could be a few things going on check the injector fuses as suggested. If fuses are good you may want to do some fuel pressure checks (you'll need a fuel pressure gage for this) at the fuel rail. If all the pressure check check out and you have injector pulses it may be injector time......the stock Multecs injectors are a problem in a lot these '89s might be your issue here too. I'm also located here in Tampa.....If you get stuck or need help with car--I'm in the area.
My '89 convertible has a similiar starting problem. It will occassionally not start after it is shut off. If I spray starting fluid in the plenium, it cranks and runs until the next time. It some times goes days before it doesn't crank again. I have changed the fuel pump and fuel filter, but has not solved the problem. Can someone help me with solving the root cause of the problem.

The stock Multec fuel injectors are a HUGE problem in '89 cars.
