Default Questions

I have a couple of questions...

1) Do I need the Evaporative emission control system canister that the charcoal canister hooks up to or can I just let the charcoal canister bleed into the air?

2) I cant find the wiring harness for the IAT (intake air temperature sensor) that is located under the plenum. Do I NEED this hooked up?

3) The vacumm canister on the left front wheel well.....Where does the vacumm hose connect into?

4) The vacumm line coming from under the throttle body...I have no idea where this vacumm hose goes so I plugged it for now....

Any help would be appreciated.

It can bleed to the air if you are not going to fix it.

2) I cant find the wiring harness for the IAT (intake air temperature sensor) that is located under the plenum. Do I NEED this hooked up?

Yes

3) The vacumm canister on the left front wheel well.....Where does the vacumm hose connect into?

Comes from fuel tank. Emmisions end up in intake manifold.

4) The vacumm line coming from under the throttle body...I have no idea where this vacumm hose goes so I plugged it for now....

Either pcv or line from canister. All info is JMO. May be errors in my statments. Good luck!

Which one?
Should have large hose from tank vent to canister , large to purge solenoid , large from solenoid to steel line on frame that ends up at the pass side port on TB.

A smaller vac line that controls two vac valves on the canister and large line from tank.
This gets it's vac from the port under the TB which answers Q#4.
This port also supplies the EGR solenoid from memory

On the IAT sensor.. where do I look for the wire connection. The plenum has the connection but I cant locate the plug in for that solenoid. Where does it come from?

You don't need it. I wouldn't want fuel vapours pouring into the engine bay, so I would plug it and use a vented gas cap.

2) I cant find the wiring harness for the IAT (intake air temperature sensor) that is located under the plenum. Do I NEED this hooked up?
The IAT is only used for EGR control. Do you still have the EGR hooked up ?? According to my memory, my 86 IAT connector was at the main bundle at back of motor, from there, a foot long pigtail went to the connector at IAT.

3) The vacumm canister on the left front wheel well.....Where does the vacumm hose connect into?
On my 86, Vapours are drawn into motor through a vac line(shared with PCV valve) via nipple in intake base. That changed in 87 and may be different in 85. Is there a vac line pic on radiator ??
4) The vacumm line coming from under the throttle body...I have no idea where this vacumm hose goes so I plugged it for now....
On my 86, it went to the EGR solenoid mounted to thermo housing.
Any help would be appreciated.
