Default Rear end grinding/slipping

On my '94 LT1, (auto, 2.59) the rear end feels like it slips or breaks loose on right hand turns under accelaration. Immediately afterwards there is a loud clunk/grinding noise and the car accelarates again. I did a search, but most others only had strange noises and no slipping "out of gear" for lack of a better term. I have never noticed this while turning to the left or any straight line acceleration.

I did post on this a while back and it was suggested that I change the diff. fluid and clutch pack additive, but that didn't seem to help and now the problem seems to be occuring a little more often.

Could this be a bad bearing assembly ? It seems like there would be a huge amount of play from the wheel if this were the case and there isn't. Could it possibly be a half shaft slipping out of the rear end or really worn out diff. bearings ?

Any suggestions on what to check ? Or experience with a similar problem ?

Thanks in advance,
Ernie

Ernie,
Check your U joints on the 1/2 shafts.....I bet you got one or more bad in there.
