Default 1990 runs rough

I have a friend who just bought his 1990 vert, it will run OK when cold but after it has ran for a few minutes it will just bearly run and dies if you try to drive it , I have a 2k and a 07 but I know nothing about the C4's any help will be great, he is going to try to pull the codes tonight so I will post more tomarrow. Bass,
Sounds like the car could need new fuel injectors. If they have not been replaced, that is the first thing I would look at. Do a search on Ohming injectors, they should read about 16.5 ohms. If they are lower, they need to be replaced. Contact forum member FIC injectors, they will fix you up w/ what you need for a fair price. Also do a search on Sam Lam, he posted a injector swap out how-to that is hard to beat.

not as familiar with the L98 engine, but if it happens after it has heated-up enough to go into 'closed loop' mode (o2 sensor feeds info to PCM to regulate fuel quantity), it could also be bad o2 sensor(s), either shorted-out on the exhaust or bad due to age or contamination.

On the 94, the diagnostic mode can be used to tell when the engine is in 'closed-loop', not sure about the 90, but recommend reviewing the FSM for the procedure, in case it can.
