It sounds like you have a connection problem or a ground problem or both. There is a known ground problem not making good contact that runs behind the driver side kick panel near the door. Someone else will chime in with more info.

Reason: Correct spelling.
Do your turn signals work all the time or does your Hi-beam indicator come on even when the headlights are off? Each of these are an indication of a bad ground.
Ok guys I meant the digi dash. The upper left hand corner is dimmer than the rest of it. When it quits it goes haywire then dark frozen in a haywire state. Then back to normal. The upper left hand corner is still dimmer than the rest of it. No high beam or turn signal problems.

Sounds like you've just got a bad connection at the bulbs or bulb socket. There are 4 bulbs that backlight the LCD panels in digital dash cluster. Remove the heat diffsuser over the problematic bulb and swap the bulb out. If you still have problems you'll have to diassemble the cluster to remove and clean/change the bulb sockets. This task is easier than it sounds.
you guys are brutal!!!! LED's LCD's.....just stick with the tried and true...."Nintendo dash" .......no confusion here...
"Atari" dash!
Sorry, to pick nits. My poor sense of humor I'm afraid.
An interesting fact though is that there is a chip on the CPU board that was actually used in early Atari gear. It's called a VIA or Versatile Interface Adapter and is a 40 pin chip at U3 on the CPU board. It is a Delco piece, but was designed for the Atari and was used in many early computers. It conditions Tach and Speedo signals for input to the CPU and processes the Function Select Switches. Did a repair on a cluster where this chip had failed and actually managed to find a place that had them! Bought the ten they had, cause you never know.

Sorry, just havin' a little fun. The dim corner sounds like one of the halogens as engle1147 mentioned. The "frozen in a haywire state" sounds like it could be power supply.
