Im doing the exhaust on my car and decided to share a video of it running with open long tube headers. It took a second to warm up but it sounds pretty good! Of course dad had to come over and play with it too! Enjoy!

Hahaha I want to but thats just the camera quality. If you are standing anywhere near it you have to yell to be heard and it feels like someone is taking drumsticks to your chest. I want to race it like this but all the tracks have noise restrictions now. Im going to put cutouts after the cats before the mufflers though.
I really hated to add the extra weight of mufflers but your right, there are restrictions. Some clubs require mufflers and some just have a DB cap. It's really loud, turn your volume to max for a more realistic experience.
Your neighbors must have loved thatbrings back memories.
I've found running open headers while breaking in a new "non" roller cam is great way to get a neighbors' full attention. I recommend the hours of 11PM and 6AM for best results.

On one side my neighbor stopped talking to me (this isnt the first car Ive modified) and on the other side the wife yells louder than my car all the time.

Good sounds. At Infineon, there as a 115 db limit. I run headers which merge into a 4" y-pipe and a downturn with no mufflers. The different banks of cylinders cancel some of the noise just enough to let me run without mufflers and without their extra weight or restriction. I think it also helps with torque too.
Thats cool! I wish I could do that. May grandpa used to run his '63 with open under the chassis headers back in the early '70s. My dad says there is nothing like hearing an open exhausted V8 screaming down the track!
