Default Help with heater

Corvette Mike helped me find what my repair shop said I needed but that didn't fix it. Now they say I need a temp actuator. GM does not keep the part any more. The old GM part number was 16025581. My Step-son is the parts manager for our local dealership. He can't find the part. It is electronic. It opens the heater door. Any ideas?

Youe best bet on any discontinued item would be EBay as mentioned by CorevetteMike or a Corvette Salvage outfit such as :

http://www.vette2vette.com/

Chances are very high that you can get your part here, albeit used.
I don't like buying used crap, but sometimes we have no choice....

I am curious, are they referring to the AC heater programmer for your '89:

It's the actuator that opens the door inside the heater to let the heat in. It is an electric actuator, the rest as far as I can tell the rest are vacuum.

Pardon me for hi-jacking the post, but...........I also have an 89' with a heater door that will not open/close.
I removed the actuator (like the above pic) and the door works freely. I then checked the actuator connector for voltage. I got weak power on 2 of the terminals.
My question.......does the auto temp controller control this actuator? It would make sense since it is the most expensive component in the system.

Low, go after the solder joints I showed you in the other thread.
That might be why there is no voltage at the motor.
