Im a idiot I cant find a thread with any part numbers to convert to the Cloyes 9-3145 for my 1996. Like the timing chain cover, Gasket, and anything else to make it work. Thanks
You won't be able to run the crank position sensor's reluctor ring if you use that timing set, will also have to run an e. water pump. You can program the CPS out, and pretty sure the only hard parts you will need will be a 95 crank hub.
Got any idea what the diff is between the 3145 and 1145 sets?
The 3145 is refered to as the "Orginal True Roller" timing set. It has a cast iron cam sprocket and a billet steel crank sprocket (with 3 keyways). The chain is a "Premium" .250 diameter roller. In addition the sprockets are hand fitted to the chain to ensure the center to center distance is correct.
The 1145 is a "Street True Roller" timing set. It also has a cast iron cam sprocket and a billet steel crank sprocket (with 3 keyways). The chain is also a .250 diameter roller but is of lower quality than the 3145. In addition there is no hand fitting of the timing set componets.
Basically it boils down to a better quality chain, hand fitting and better quality control on the 3145.
