Seeing as I won't have the vette out for another month or more(snow), any estimates on what this would do in the 1/4? (if I hooked up)
1993 LT1, 50,000 miles
K/N open filter
pcmforless custom chip, rpm limit 6140, fans on 174 & 178 (160 stat), more timing in and firm shift and whatever they do for converter lockup
open exhaust from cat back
3.54 gears (soon to be in)
Seems to go very good with the 2.59's in it..even though that to me is a very poor gear...any estimates?
IF a mid year LT1 pulled from mid to low 13's, i would guess a couple tenths would help out. Gears in the LT1 worked better than in the L98 cars since there is more RPM in those motors.
I would say if a round about number stock the 93 is pulling a 13.4 - 13.5 then with that work , gears , converter, running cooler and hooking up, you could pull an honest 13.0 maybe possible high high 12.
My stock 1985 ran a low 14.. low 14. I put 3.73 gears and converted it to a manual 44 rearend, open the air box, K&N, Traco chip, stock new injectors, air foil, performance plug wires, 160 thermostat and thats about it. She ran a 13.39 at 108. If i didnt spin as much i probably would have ran closer to 13.0. Not alot of mods either.

thanks
i had pretty close to the same mods you do (or are going to have with the rear) and i could only get a best of 13.40 on a cool night and with some good tires on it. high 12s are are acheivable with a little shot of laughing gas. lolol
Just a random comment and i don't know if some of you will remember, not knowing your ages but when i subscribed to corvette fever and the 1992 LT1 Vette came out, they did a test with it against the then new Supra. The 1992 Vette ran a 13.20 eta. I know when all of us go to the tracks we do conditions aren't always ideal. Whether the box is slippery or the weather is to hot or cold, but i see alot of comments from the LT1 guys usually running mid 13's to 13.7's. All i can figure is they realllly tuned it. Meaning, lowered tire pressure, maybe cooled the plenum before racing, maybe added a bottom of octane booster...etc..
what are your thoughts? The article again was from 1992. Ill see if i still have the magazine.
